Becoming an Effective "Guide on the Side"

One shift the teacher often makes as they begin to implement inquiry in their classroom is moving from the “sage on the stage” to a facilitator of learning. The teacher is not a giver of information, rather facilitates the learning through questioning. This also empowers students to make decisions about their learning.
